Meditation for an Active Mind

with Swami Vidyananda
Price: $95.00–$145.00 – Sliding Scale Tuition

“Meditation is the key to Everything.”—Sri Swami Satchidananda

In this online workshop, learn to use strategies for meditation with an active mind. If you’ve tried meditation or mindfulness, and wondered what to do about the obstacles that arise, then come join us for a refreshing look at uncovering peace of mind. Learn to use strategies such as body scans, breath, and mindful witnessing to calm your active mind.

There are hundreds of studies that show us the benefits of meditation: it calms the mind, and reduces stress and anxiety. It can promote good health and emotional resilience. We need all of this in these times of change, challenge and stress.

Your COVID life may be busier than ever, or suddenly feel meaningless and boring. And our electronic devices bombard us with news, views, and info-tainment to help keep the mind active day and night. You may want to meditate, but not find the time. Or perhaps you sit to practice and bump into distractions and complex emotions. All of this is an opportunity to use meditation for profound growth and inner healing—if you know what to do with these obstacles as they arise.

Learn useful tools, such as:

  • Body-based meditations
  • Making friends with the breath
  • Developing the witness (mindfulness)
  • Discovering the deep benefits of meditations, even when they seem unfocused

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, most of us go through periods where the mind itself is a challenge to finding peace and freedom from stress in meditation. This workshop will show you the deep benefit of meditation, especially at these times.

Live sessions with Swami Vidyananda on Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 am–12:30 pm and 2–4 pm EDT.

In addition, you will have access to the Ashram’s Live Hatha Yoga classes at 5 pm, recorded Ashram meditations, and inspiring talk with Sri Swami Satchidananda. You will also have access to an online social community to connect and communicate with other participants about this course.

The main program sessions are live and all sessions are in EDT. The live sessions will be recorded and posted to the Online Programs access page if you are unable to join us live for that session. Recordings* are usually posted within one day and are available to program participants and presenter(s) only.
*You're welcome to turn off your camera if you don't wish your image to be recorded.

You will have access to the video recordings for 8 weeks after the program ends, until November 29.
